I came to the position of Director of the Law Library from a background in law library public services and technology. Prior to UB, I worked as Head of Computing Services at Saint Louis University School of Law, and Associate Director for Information and Technology at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. I have always been particularly interested in the application of computer-mediated communication and social networking techologies among producers and consumers of legal information. My research interests include the future of legal information and technology, with a particular interest in how emerging technologies are affecting the practice of law and the ways in which lawyers manage their information needs. I am a founding member of the Law and New Media Working Group of the Baldy Center for Law and Social Policy associated with the University at Buffalo Law School. In addition, I am director of the collaborative JD/MLS Law Librarianship program, and I teach Law Library Administration and Teaching Legal Research.
I do a weekly podcast called Check This Out!, on “law, libraries, and life in a northern border town,” and I produce the podcast UB Law Faculty Conversations. I also participate in a group blog, Out of the Jungle, and several other blog projects. If you’d like to chat, here’s where you’ll find me:
